ICT and IT

Assalamualaikum....

When the first time Ms. Nisha says that today I'm going to teach you the second topic which is IT and ICT, I'm so excited because I though this topic is easier than others. It is because both of that term so familiar to me. After Ms. Nisha taught us about this topic, i knew it was not simple as i thought. Actually ICT (stand for Information Technology) is similar with IT (Information Communication and Technology) but ICT focuses on communication technology.

While IT is application of computers and telecommunication equipment like telephone and fax machine to store,transmit and manipulate data. IT has two concepts which is IT architecture and IT infrastructure.


IT architecture  is a map, plan or drawing of information assets in an organization while IT infrastructure is a physical facilities, IT components, IT services and IT personnel that support an entire organization. IT components such as computer software and hardware. IT services are relate to system organization whereby the services are provided for customer. IT personnel is people who work in IT department and deal with Information system.

In lab session, Ms. Nisha asked us to make a group and do presentation about the uses of ICT. My groupmates are Misrawati, Chek Nazirah, Hasnita and Kalai. All of us are from Malaysia. My group got the uses of ICT in science. I think that's all for this post and thank you for visiting my blog.

Data, Information and Information Management

Hai!!This is my second post and I would like to write about the first topic in IT which is Data, Information and Information Management. Firstly, let me introduce my lecturer before I write more about this topic. She is Miss Qairulnisha or as known as Miss Nisha. She is pretty, young, attractive, stylish and single. Actually I miss this lesson because I registered lately for foundation studies. I study this topic by myself. I will write what I understand about the topic.


Firstly we have to know what is data. Data is a raw facts and it doesn't has contextual.It can be in the form of numbers, text, video and even audio. Data is used as input of processing. Meanwhile, information is data with contextual.Information will processed, summarized, organized and analyzed data. Information is used as output of processing. This processing will become knowledge.  Furthermore in this topic, we also learnt about data integrity.Data integrity is maintaining accuracy and consistency of data and it important for database or RDBMS system.


The most important in this topic is GIGO ( is the computer phrase). GI is garbage in while GO is garbage out. We cannot create information from incorrect data. When the poor garbage in become poor  garbage out, the data integrity is lost.

Output or input is devices are used by a person to communicate with computer. Input is any data that is received by  the system (into computer's memory).

Meanwhile, output is a data that has been  processed to send it.Output devices will conveys information to one or others people.

 We also learnt about Information Management or as known as IM in this topic. IM is information's collection and management from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. IM encompasses systems such as web content management(CM), document management(DM), records management(RM), digital asset management(DAM), learning management systems(LM) and learning content management systems(LCM).

My Experience Living In AIU

Hmm...Good evening!!!Actually i don't know what should i write first??? Should i write what do i feel first??Or should i write what have i did in the  first trimester in AIU?? Or another things??Erk !! I really have no idea. Arrrgg....Before that, let me introduce myself. I'm Nur Syahirah bt. Muhammad Shukri. I'm 19 years old and i was born on 29th  June 1994. I'm studying in AIU almost 10 months and I'm doing foundation now. I think that information is enough to let you know about me. Hehehe..!!

 I was registered in AIU as a student on June 2012(actually i forgot the exact date).I start study in Intensive English Program(IEP) around 7 months(not included holiday or trimester break for a month).My first class in IEP is Elementary Level in Mr Lor Keat Seng's class.He taught us with fully-kind hearted and he tried to be funny with us but sometimes no one laugh because his expression did not show that he is making a joke. He taught us like kindergarden's students but i like the way he taught. He would be asked his students to talk to each others in class based on what was he teaching about. He made english lesson more interesting at that time. I'm not pretty good in english at the first but he's teaching way improved my english. I really thanked him. I'm glad to be a part of his students. After 3 months in his class, we had final exam and i'm passed.

 So i'm went through to the next level, Intermediate in Mr. Amlan's class. He very talented teacher but he rarely taught us about grammar. Maybe he thinks if he teaches us about grammar, we're getting bored because some of my classmates were in Intermediate Level for the second times. However, he didn't make our class bored  but he had a good strategy and different way of teaching. We had many activities in class such as watching movies, group presentation and exchanges opinion with each others. I had precious moments in both of that class and I have learnt Vietnam, Syria, Kosovo, China and Combodia's culturals, languages and their lifestyles. But i'm not really closed with syrian students because their thinking is always kill me.I meant they are headstrong and they want us to only accept their opinion. However, they become friendly when we're in the informal situation(outside class).

Eventhought my post is not good, lack of information and experience but i have learnt a valuable lesson in both of that class. I have learnt not to be racism (just be friend with some students who is beautiful, handsome, brilliant and white skin colour), open-minded and not to be shy to make a lot of mistakes in class. I'm sorry if my post did not achieve what you expert from me. My poor befuddled brain can't think as good as brilliant student to make this post interesting and attractive. Hehe!!
