Web Application

Hai!! Today, I'm going to write about Web application which is the last topic in this course and it going to be my last post too. Web application is any service or application in internet. While web browsers are application that allow users to retrieve data and interact with the content located on webpage within the website.

The example of web application

            Static and dynamic are the types of web application. The static web is regarded as a read-only web such as web 1.0. It provided information that allow people to view and read the web but they cannot edit the web. While, dynamic web is an active web that used for interaction between people and software. Visitors can read, view, edit and give comment in dynamic web. 

Besides that, if not my mistaken I have told you about computer generation but now I'm not going to explain about the computer generation but I want to explain about web generation. There's not only computer have generation but web also have that. However web just have 3 generation. The first generation is web 1.0. This is a static webpage and it used to create web using HTML coding. The important component in this web is hyperlink. Usually web 1.0 is an education and company website. 

The second generation is web 2.0. This web allows user to interact with website. This web is a combination of lots of technology. 

The last generation is web 3.0. This is an intelligence web or semantic web. It helps people to make discussion. I want to focus more about web 2.0. There are 2 main group of web 2.0. The first one is online social network. It allows people to communicate and meet people all over the world. It also known as social sites. 

         The second main group of web 2.0 is Aggregrator or Mashup. This is a website that can takes different content form another website and mixes them together to create a new kind of content. Data aggregrator and video aggregrator are the  example of aggregrator.

       Programming Language is used in web application that enables a programmer to communicate with a computer such as XML and AJAX. Programming language was divided by 2 types. The first one is low-level language. It is a machine dependent language. It covers the first and second generation. The second one is high-level language. It more user-friendly. It covers from third generation until the fifth generation.

     The first generation is machine-language. It is a 2 combination of letters and number that represent binary digits. Secondly, assemble language is a symbolic instruction code. Next, is a procedural language (3GLs). The forth one is non-procedural language. It used graphical tools. The last one is object-oriented and web development tools such as JAVA script. 

         There are 5 information technologies and applications in web 2.0 which are XML, AJAX, Tagging, Blogs and Wiki. XML stand for Extensible Markup Language. It contain structured information including pictures and words. AJAX is acronym. It has 2 programming languages, Java Script and XML.  Tagging is about metadata. Every single network or word is called tagging. Blogs is informal website and it used to create diary by using internet. Wiki is to create, edit or delete website. The most popular is Wikipedia. 

Here is our group website, which is we have to present the proposal that we did about hypermarket in lecturer but my group didn't present yet because one of my group mate was sick. Maybe, we have to present on Tuesday next week.

Alhamdulillah, finally I finished my blog and I can breath calmly and be prepare for the final exam. I hope I'll be able to remember what have we learnt in class. 

Internet

Hai!! Today, I'm going to write about Internet. This topic is quite interesting and nowadays it become important in our life. People will use internet for many things such as for communicate with others, for search information and so forth. Of course we know what the uses of internet but do we know the history of internet??

Internet is about network or computer network and the largest network in the world that connects people or organization all over the world. Sometimes, Internet will called global. Internet has been started in 1969 and as known as ARPANET ( used in California). In 1980, ARPANET was renamed as Internet. 


There are 6 services on the internet. The first one is EMAIL. It is a electronic mail that can used to create, receive, send and store email. 

The example of Email

The second internet service is Web. Web has created by Tim Berners Lee and sometimes it known as 'www'. It contains hypertext link or highlighted keywords and images that lead to related information. 

Website is a collection of linked web page that has a common theme or focus

About us, Services, Portfolio, Contact and Blog are the examples of Web Page

For me, the crucial thing in this topic is HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) that uses to display web pages and other information that displayed in a web browser. It allows web browser to read them and the text must be formatted according to a standard. There are 3 methods to access the Web. The first method is internet connection. We have to connect with the internet first before we access the web. The second method is ISP (Internet Service Provider). This is an organization that provided us with the internet connection. The last one is web browser. This is application program that used to view the web page like Google chrome and Internet Explore. There are two structure of the web which is Web Server and Web Client.  Web Server is computer that serve Web Pages while Web Client is our computer.

The example of  ISP 

The third internet service is Transfer Protocol. It use computer to move the file from one computer to another on the internet by using Hypertext Transfer protocol (HTTP) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP).  The fourth internet services is Chat room. It allows people to communicate with others like Facebook and Friendster. Next, VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) or Internet Telephony is the one of internet services. People uses it to speak with others like Skype and Facebook Video Call. The last one is News Groups which is an electronic forum that conduct discussion about specific topic. 

We also learnt about Uniform Resource Locators (URL). This is an address of web site. There are four part of URL. There are transfer protocol, domain name, the path name and the name of the file. Domain name is the name of the organization or people while the path name is the website name. That's all for this topic and this topic is not difficult to understood.

Database Management System

Hai!! On Tuesday, 19 March 2013 we learnt about Database Management System. This topic is quite confusing me but I don't know which part that make me feel confused. I read about this topic before I update the blog and I though I do not be confuse but when my friend asked me what do u understand about database and database management system?? I tried to answer her but my answer was unsatisfied. She got confused as well as me. Now, I wanna test my IQ whether I'm still confuse or not. Heehehhe... 

 Database is the organised data and used to storing, organizing and controlling the data. It relate with data and information. Database is the concept of storing, managing and retrieving information. Database is applied in university, supermarket, hospital and so forth. There are two components of database, data item and schema. Data item is to retrieve the specific data while schema is the relationship in database and data. It also known as ERD ( Entity Relationship Diagram).

There are 6 fundamentals of database. To use database, we have to understand the term. The first one is field or as known as column. The second one is record. It is a group of related fields that is represent by row. The third one is key field. It is a subject code such as student's ID. The next fundamental of database is irrational database. For example, managing the timetable. The fifth one is table. It is a collection of record.The last one is objects. It used to view, manage, analyse the data such as table, form and report.

Database Management System (DBMS) is a database program. It used to create, store and manipulate the database. The functions of database management system is to allow user to create a database by using the DDL( Data Definition Languages). Database management system is also used to give user ability modify data by using DML( Data Manipulation Languages). Database management system provides information to the decision  maker by using SQL ( Structured Query Languages). 

     
         There are 3 types of Database Language. The first Database Language is DDL or Data Definition Language which is used to create database. The second one is DML or Data Manipulation Language. It will manipulate, edit and update data The last one is DCL or Data Control Language.

The users of DBMS are End User, Application Programmer and Database Administrator. End user is a person who use database or application program. Application Programmer is a person who designed the system. Database Administrator is a person who's managing or maintaining the system.

Database Model is structure, organization, characteristic and description of database. The basic building block for all data models are entity, attributes and relationship. Entity is any particular object in the real world and it represents in tables. Attributes is the characteristic of an entity that represent by column in table. Relationship describe the relationship among entities.It can be shown in the form of diagram. There are 3 forms of ERD. They are one to one relationship, one to many relationship and many to many relationship. 

Database model has 4 types. There are hierarchical database, network database, relational database and object-relational database.

Network database is to represent complex data relationship and it establish many to many relationship

IS & IS Methodology

Hai!!Long time I didn't update my blog. Today I'm back to write about Information System(IS).For me, this topic is the most difficult than other topic. For this topic I have to remember and understand all the system and I very weak in memorizing.


IS is the application of computer based on Information Technology that used to facilitate planning, control, coordination and decision making in organization. There are 5 components of IS. The first one is hardware. It is a computer equipment that used to perform input, processing and output activities. The second one is software. The third one is database. The forth one is people who manage, run, and maintain the system. The last one is procedures. It is a policies, methods and rules for using computer information system.



There are 5 types of information system. The first one is Transaction Processing System (TPS). It is a backbone of an organization's information system and used by operational and supervisory. It used to collect, store and process data from business transaction. The second one is Decision Support System (DSS). It used to support unstructured program. It mainly for tactical manager.



The third one is Expert Support System.( ESS). It used by top manager. The forth one is Management Information Sytem (MIS). It used by middle manager to produce report with fixed and standard formats.
The last type of IS is Office Automation  System (OAS). It used to collect, process and store data and information in the form of electronic office communication.


System Developer will use ISD methodologies in helping them implement a new system.  ISD methodologies is a collection of tools, technique or documentation. There are 7 types of ISD methodologies. There are STRADIS, IE, Photocopying, SDLC, SSM and Ethics.


But seriously I said, until now I don't remember the types, and what the uses of ISD methodologies. I hope I can remember and understand this topic before final exam.

My First Presentation

Hai!!On 13 February 2013, my groupmates and I had a presentation about Digital Asset Management. My group members are Sumith Kumar (leader), Awardk Salim, Ly Zahry, Hem Zerkiny, and Farahain. My part is benefit or advantages of digital asset management. Here are our slides show :

We face a lot of problems while preparing this slides show. Our first meeting, Farahain and I didn't attend because we had another meeting and our WiFi was bad but on the another day, we asked Sumith about our part and he want us to do our part first before we meet again. The second meeting, one of our group members didn't attend because he has taekwondo's test. We decided to have no meeting after that day and we gave the slides that we did to Zerkiny and he combined our slides to be one. Even though, we faced a lot of problem but I have learnt something valuable from that. I learnt to respect other and get know each other. However, I'm very happy to know them and we had wonderful moment together.
